I’m sitting on the beach and life is good. The sky is a crystal clear blue. It’s about 80. People are fishing, and yes, they’re reelin’ em in. The sands are sugar white, the tropical sun is hot, and the cool gulf breeze feels great. It feels open and free. The pelicans are diving into the emerald green waters. It’s vast and beautiful. You can smell the salt in the breeze.

We enjoy life when we’re fully awake and working on our passion. We relish experiencing the process of the day. Engaging in life, be it contemplation or running a corporation. But we all get sucked into nonsense. Break free. Let it flow past you and observe.

What is your One main focus today? What One Thing engages your whole being? What makes your heart leap? What One Thing do you want to accomplish today? What makes you want to run around and scream, “Yes!”

That’s Leadership. That’s Vision. Focus Down, Laser Sharp…Engage. Just Do It.

Something Strikes Me as Paramount Today

Something strikes me as paramount today and that is: These aren't the days to play it safe. Everything is at risk. Everything is an opportunity. Everything is an adventure. Nothing is certain. And if we lock our selves into safety mode, life will pass us by. We will wake up one day and wonder what happened. That's where a lot of us are today. Waking up to history.

The old tried and true business models are shaken and found wanting. Business will surely go on, but the structures and what works; has and is changing. It will continue to change and so must we.

These are not days for the faint hearted. But these are days of great opportunity for those who can work together and make it happen. These are days when families and friends, out of necessity, must work together. These are the days when each family must have an entrepreneur raised up in them, who can vision, structure and execute a plan. It's back to basics. No more "working for the man." It never really did pay. It may take several small businesses within a family to make it work. But it will work.

I personally want to build a business where we can pool resources, and tools to build good solid businesses together. I'm looking for believers to team with in this. This is a small blog and mostly for my friends, so I can say that here. What are your thoughts??? Hopes? Dreams?

I'm going to be moving this onto a larger platform soon and this will be deleted, so let me know now what you're thinking. What's stirring inside?

I'm running through ProBlogger's 31 Days and it's Great! But ProBlogger is for Pro's ie. Professionals. It assumes you have a business blog up and running.

The Problem for beginner (Newbie) bloggers, is that "we don't know what we need to know" to become pro's. This is where Niche Blogger fills the gap, quite possibly cutting a year off the learning process. Do I sound excited? I am. I've searched over a year to find a program like this one.

Now, What can I say? I'll try to keep it brief. Amy Bass wanted to be a stay at home mom.
So, she started: Amy's Debt Free Goal Blog and outlined her journey day by day. She paid off over $70,000 in student debt and built a solid online business in a little over a year.

Can I tell you a secret. Amy didn't tell me this, and she doesn't know that I know, or that I'm telling you. You see, she left her blog up for a while, and she's probably taken it down by now.
I was checking her out to see if she was for real. It was all there. A day by day account.

Well, as the story goes, a funny thing happened on her way there. Now, I'm leaving out a lot of the personal stuff, (it's a little too personal to share here); but everybody noticed that what she did worked, especially her mom. Now get this, Amy's mom only knew how to check her e-mail, but she still asked Amy to help her to set up her own business.

So Amy started, day by day, teaching her mom and other family members and friends a step by step process that grew into Niche Blogger. She wrote it down in daily post and added Video's. She assumed nothing. Amy has filled in the gaps that other great blogging courses have left out.

Then, she opened it up to the public in August of last year, I think. Like I said, she didn't tell me any of this. So now you know.

Try it Just For A Month, and I'm as sure as hurricane season's coming, that you'll be hooked. Yea, I'm Southern and we do tell stories. It's easy, but it does kick butt. Well, mine anyway. Just point, click and try. You won't regret it. She takes you by the hand day by day.

Just one last thing. Every Internet Guru Hot Shot out there says to get a Mentor, before you do anything else. Choose Amy. The Niche Blogger. Now, while it's fresh on your heart and mind. Give yourself a second chance. I'm not trying to sell you. I just know what it will do for you. I'm through. Niche Blogger.

I've been asked by several of you, so there must be more, What are you doing? I don't get it. I answered the e-mails, and I decided that posting it would be so much easier.

First, I totally understand. We all start at not even knowing what we don't know. I was in Honduras, with a team working with orphans on a farm. One day the person in charge looked me straight in the eye and said, "We don't know what we can do. You've got to show us." So at whatever level you are, review only increases our competency.

Blog is a combination of Web+Log=Blog. A blog is basically an Online Diary of what you are passionate about...your hobbies, politics, thoughts and feelings. What do you love to do? Regardless of the response, You'd do it anyway. What makes you tick? What excites you? What are you crazy about? Not you, you big stud. What dazzles you and causes you to be a better person?It's not just what you dream about. It's what causes you to put those dreams into action.
Let's raise the bar on blogging.

Now, let's say it's Gardening, or getting out of debt, or building a sustainable lifestyle, or living a green lifestyle. You blog about it. Your efforts- what works- what doesn't work. You want a home windmill for electricity so you review the ones out there. You find one, buy it and love it. So you slap a add on your blog. Someone else gives it a try, clicks on your add, buys it and you get up to 85% of the sale price. You've provided a product that you know will help somebody else. You love in it, but you don't house it, send it, or service it. That's Affiliate Marketing in a nutshell.

But Why would they pay you? You provide the platform on your blog -- the link from the seller to the customer, so you are paid what they would have paid in advertising. Now this is only one tool in the second level of blogging, and you don't have to do it. But why not? They say, and yea, who are they, I don't have the research here, but they say that for last year, 2008, the average blog earned $6,000. That's $6,000 more time for you to do what you love.

Now, I know that's really simplified. We will be developing a Whole View of Blogging as we go on. So you can get crazy creative and develop your blog into your own unique masterpiece. Stay Tuned!

31 Days to Build a Better Blog - Sign Up Here

31 Days to Building a Better Blog, ProBlogger Site News 109 comments

Starting on 1 April (no it’s not an April fools joke) I am planning on launching another ‘31 Days to a Better Blog‘ project.

I’ve run this twice previously (once in 2005 and once in 2007) so thought that I should continue the biennial nature of it.

This year I’m going to run it slightly differently so if you’re interested in participating please read on carefully.

Of particular note - this year I’m asking those participating to sign up as registered participants. You don’t have to do it - but to get the full benefits from it I ask that you do. I’ll explain more on why I’m doing this below.

The Idea

The idea behind this is simply to have a group of bloggers setting aside a month of their time to work at improving their blogs. While we all want to have better blogs sometimes it becomes one of those things that we’re going to do…. one day.

I personally find that I improve (in all areas of my life) when I’m more intentional and set aside a specific time to make the improvements. That’s what this project is about.

Yesterday on Twitter I mentioned that I was thinking of running this again and had 50 people express interest in 5 minutes. I quickly set up a sign up page just for my Twitter users and within 24 hours had well over 1000 registered participants. I guess people want to do it.

How it Works

Each day from 1st April until the 1st May I will make a post here on ProBlogger that is part of the challenge.

Posts will be designed to each have two aspects to them:

A teaching component (theory)
A practical component (a task/homework)

The idea is that often teaching remains in the realm of theory and doesn’t actually prompt those digesting it to DO something. This project is more about DOING than learning. I hope you will learn, but to be honest if you’ve been blogging for a while some of what we’ll cover many will have heard before - but this project will give you a framework and hopefully some inspiration to put what you know into action.

Some of the tasks will be similar to previous years tasks and some will be new (some things never change so there will always be some overlap). Some tasks will be more relevant to some bloggers than others so you may not choose to do all of them but they will be on a variety of areas of blogging including writing content, interacting with readers, finding new readers, design, tools etc.

This 31 days are designed for beginner and newer bloggers but many of the tasks will be relevant to intermediate and more advanced bloggers also.

To Participate

As mentioned above - this year I’m asking those who want to do the challenge to register their email addresses. You will receive one email per day over the 31 days notifying you that a new post is up, giving you the link to it as well as a little extra information for registered participants.

You don’t have to do this and can follow the posts via our RSS feed - but I’m asking for you to register for a few reasons:

Sometimes signing up for something is important in making us accountable to do what we say we’ll do.
It will enable me to give a little extra information than the posts contain themselves. On the blog the posts will be written in a way that anyone will hopefully benefit whether they do the full challenge or not - but in the emails that I send each day pointing you to the post I will include a little extra information just relevant to those doing the challenge.
My hope this time is to let the 31 Day Challenge live on way beyond the first 31 days. People will be able to signup and do the challenge at any point as the emails will be sent via an auto responder.
It will give me a little more insight into who is doing the challenge which will hopefully means I can tailor it a bit better to peoples needs.
Lastly - there’s a couple of things I’m working on as a bonus for those who register. I’ll write more of these as they firm up.

At the end of the 31 days I’m not planning on sending too many more emails. I may add a few more tasks over time but the daily emails will stop. If I do keep sending a few emails, again you’re welcome to unsubscribe if it isn’t meeting your needs.
